This is the moment a 72-year-old man walking along a quiet street was knocked to the ground by a dog running at full speed and left in a serious condition in hospital.
The incident happened on the morning of 7th July in Piacatu, a small town of just over 5,000 inhabitants in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil, but the footage of it was released on Tuesday, 12th August.
Security camera video shows the pensioner strolling along a street when two dogs come running towards him. One crashes into his legs, sending him tumbling backwards onto the asphalt.
He lies motionless as passersby rush to his aid.
Locals took him to the town’s emergency room where he received 10 stitches to his head.
He was then transferred to Bilac, where scans revealed a fractured nose, before being sent on to Santa Casa de Aracatuba hospital.
Doctors there placed him in the Intensive Care Unit and said he required intubation.
According to his family, the dog's owner told them the animal had escaped and was not used to being outside, and was now providing assistance to the victim.
