This is the moment a notorious gang leader plunges to his death while trying to escape through a balcony during a police raid.

The incident took place in the Aves Maria area of Sabaneta, Antioquia, in Colombia, on 9th October.

Video released by the Colombian National Police shows Ender Alexis Rojas Montan, 31, known as “Ender,” of the Tren de Aragua gang, moving towards the balcony of his eighth-floor apartment as officers forced open the door to arrest him.

He is seen climbing over the balcony railing, apparently to climb down to the floor below, but his grip fails, and he falls into the void, dying instantly.

Authorities confirmed that there was no exchange of gunfire during the operation, which was part of “Operation Shadow 3,” carried out jointly by Colombian, Chilean, and Peruvian police forces with support from the American Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Ameripol.

Rojas Montan was wanted by Chilean authorities through an Interpol red notice for aggravated kidnapping and criminal association and was identified as one of the leaders of the Alayon Dynasty faction of the Tren de Aragua criminal organisation.

The Tren de Aragua is a transnational criminal organisation from Venezuela, which the USA designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization on 20th January this year (2025).

Montan had fled Chile in June 2024 and had been living in Colombia since, allegedly coordinating efforts to expand the gang’s operations into the Aburra Valley.

In the same operation, three alleged members of the organisation were captured: Luis Alberto Cabeza Calderon, alias “Toro”; Yonathan Samuel Urbina Rodriguez, alias “El Gordo”; and Daviannys del Jesus Moya Avila, alias “La Gallega.”

Cabeza Calderon, considered one of the most trusted men of the gang’s top leader, Hector Rusthenford Guerrero Flores, known as “Nino Guerrero,” had been wanted in Peru since 2023 for crimes including extortion and drug trafficking.

Police said the three captured suspects were allegedly involved in expanding the group’s influence in Colombia, managing synthetic drug distribution, extortion networks, and sexual exploitation operations.

During the searches, authorities seized two Glock pistols, a fragmentation grenade, a magazine with 32 cartridges, and about a pound of amphetamine used to produce the synthetic drug tusi, valued at COP 50 million (GBP 9,550).

Colonel Edgar Andres Correa Tobon, director of the National Police’s Gaula unit, said the operation dealt a major blow to the gang’s expansion in Colombia and highlighted the coordination between international agencies to dismantle transnational criminal structures.

Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing to locate other members of the network who remain at large.
