Customers of a McDonald's branch have complained that groups of elderly people are taking up the tables for hours playing cards and chess inside the restaurant.
The bizarre gatherings, filmed inside a McDonalds in Shanghai, China, have been going on for months, according to one local, named only as Mr Chu.
The video shows at least five different tables occupied by old men and old women who are seen shuffling cards without apparently having ordered any drinks or food.
Mr Chu told local media on 17th July that every time he stops by the local McDonalds on his way to or from work, he can barely find a place to sit and have his meal.
He said the groups often takes up tables for long periods and speak loudly, which affects the dining experience of other customers.
Mr Chu also noted that the staff finds it difficult to ask them to leave directly, and believes the situation reflects poorly on the city’s image.
The restaurant itself has not yet commented on the complaints.
