This is the moment a bad-tempered schoolboy burst into tears after seeing his homework destroyed by a puppy, and as his mother filmed without intervening, he dragged it out from under a chair and gave it a beating.
The video, apparently recorded to prove that the dog really did eat the boy's homework, was shot in Jiangsu Province, China, and shared online on 21st August.
In the video the boy is seen sobbing as he discovers his homework torn into pieces on the floor.
He then pulls the puppy out from under a chair and strikes it repeatedly.
The woman filming is believed to be his mother and a man is also present in the room standing alongside the crying boy without stepping in.
The clip ends with the child weeping over the scraps of homework scattered across the floor.
The video drew vast attention online, with users commenting things like: "This kid probably tore it himself, poor dog."
Another user, titled 'sweet sugar', said: "The parents should make him re-do it, it's that simple."
And 'BEST-MAX' wrote: "It helped you, you should reward it with a treat. You are repaying kindness with evil."
